Pizza and Chianti

Pizza #1: spinach, mozzarella, balsamic vinegar (wheat crust)

2001 Felsina Rancia Chianti Classico: Wow. How come I don't drink more Chianti? (This is not an ordinary Chianti, but still.) A gorgeous, layered, nose of underbrush, leather, and a warm berries. In the mouth, this is like a perfectly structured short story, with the fruit slowly building to a climax before being briskly swept away by the acid. A great wine in a great place.
